EndNote Styles

Looking for Pre-existing Formats?

1. Built-in in EndNote: When installing EN, if you choose Custom installation and specify the installation of Additional Styles, you will have access to 7,000+ pre-existing formats. If you only have about 600 styles, you can choose to modify the installation, as detailed on page 2 of the Quick reference guide. [Win] (1) Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features (or Program Collection) > EndNote > Change > Modify to choose additional installation. (2) Or rerun the EndNote installation program > appear and select Modify to choose additional installation. [Mac] Open EndNote, and click EndNote > Customizer > check Output Styles to complete the installation.
2. **EndNote Official Website:** Offers updated or new Output Styles. Click Help > EndNote Output Styles to search or browse. Examples include the latest APA 7th, AMA 11th.
3. Journal Publisher Websites: If provided, usually found in the for Authors or submission guidelines section.
4. Custom Formats by Medical Library (200+ .ens files): (1) **Single download** (Beta version, welcome to use) (2) Download entire package (After downloading, please unzip and store according to instructions)

Save to Specified Path

No matter where you get the EndNote Style from, it should be saved to one of two specified paths.

• Path (1) – User Path (Recommended to store self-made or third-party formats downloaded from non-official websites, retained even when EN versions are updated) [Win] C:\Users (Computer User Name)\Documents (Documents)\EndNote\Styles
